The State of my J-Skills

Reflecting back on the unit shows what skills I am good at and lack when it comes to Journalism.

The skills that I see I excel at are communicating with people and my extrovert nature make me able to be friendly with people I am with. What I see I still lack in is writing when it comes to news writing. The style of writing I think I am good at is when it comes to fantastical works. I play a lot with colorful words which are the opposite of what Journalistic works need.

If I were to rate my skills when it comes to journalism, I would say that I am at the amateur level. This is because I don’t tend to focus on my j-skills. I tend to focus on my more imaginative, fantastical side than my analytical and evidence-based self.

What I do hope when it comes to my exposure training, I will be able to practice more of the skills I lack at. I want to try my best to better myself when it comes to journalism since I wouldn’t say that this is particularly a strong suit of mine. I hope that when it comes to my exposure training, I will be able to better myself with my skills.
